Pretty early in the build we constructed the custom battery/inverter power system for the convenience of being able to run our power tools as required without the constant need for a generator. It also powered our mini compressor fridge for refreshments during the summer. We would typically just give the bus a run for 30mins whilst we cleaned up at the end of our build sessions. This seemed to replenish the batteries very well..

As our system incorporated both 24v and a 12v system we fitted a car cd player for music whilst we worked. Having mixed tastes in music that included 80’s pop and 80’s big hair metal/rock to name a few, we seemed to end up with a collection of burned compilation CD’s.

One song that seemed to play more often was ‘The final Countdown’ and this seemed to become the bus anthem.

Hopefully as we are passed the halfway mark we are on the final countdown.................
